Commander of the Navy pays courtesy call on Hon. Speaker of the Parliament

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the Parliament, Hon. (Dr.) Jagath Wickramaratne at the Office of the Hon. Speaker in the Parliament today (16th January 2025).

During this maiden courtesy call, which has been a traditional military practice, the Commander of the Navy and Hon. Speaker exchanged views on Navy’s role in matters of national significance.

The formal meeting drew to a close with an exchange of mementoes, signifying the importance of the occasion.
