25th anniversary of Provost and Regulating branch of the Navy celebrated with beach cleaning drive

The Sri Lanka Navy organized a cleaning programme at the beachfront of Talaimannar Lighthouse today (16th January 2025) on the occasion of 25th anniversary of the Provost and Regulating branch. This initiative was carried out in support of the government's “Clean Sri Lanka” project, launched under the motto “Beautiful Island, Smiling People.”

As a key partner of the “Clean Sri Lanka” national initiative, the Sri Lanka Navy conducts comprehensive coastal cleanup programmes across the island. Today's effort successfully removed a significant amount of waste, including plastic and polythene debris scattered along the beachfront. The Navy ensured the collected waste was responsibly disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
