Navy renders assistance to clean paddy warehouses under Clean Sri Lanka initiative
The Sri Lanka Navy commenced a programme on 23 Jan 25, extending its helping hand to clean government paddy warehouses in the Anuradhapura and Mannar districts, to ensure safe storage for the Maha season harvest. This initiative was carried out in support of the government's "Clean Sri Lanka" project, launched under the vision "Beautiful Island, Smiling People.”
As a key partner of the “Clean Sri Lanka” national initiative, the Sri Lanka Navy threw its weight behind this worthy initiative, following the directives of the Commander of the Navy. The paddy warehouse cleaning project carried out in Nochchiyagama, Thalawa and Alkadaweli was supervised by the Commander North Central Naval Area. Further, the Navy is set to clean 24 government-owned paddy storage facilities located within the Anuradhapura and Mannar districts under this programme.
The Sri Lanka Navy stands ever ready to extend its unwavering support in fulfilling national duties of this nature.
