Rear Admiral Chandima Silva assumes duties as Commander Western Naval Area

Rear Admiral Chandima Silva assumed duties as Commander Western Naval Area at the Western Naval Command Headquarters today (24 Jan 25).

The newly appointed Area Commander was received to the Western Naval Command in accordance with time-honoured naval traditions. Thereupon, his predecessor, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe handed over the duties and responsibilities of the Commander Western Naval Area, to the newly appointed Area Commander.

Concluding the proceedings of the event, senior officers of the Western Naval Command congratulated the outgoing Commander appreciative of his tenure. Next the Command bade customary farewell to the outgoing Commander, in precision with naval traditions.
