Late Rear Admiral Mohan Jayamaha commemorated in special mass

On the occasion of the 30th death anniversary of one of the iconic war veterans of the Sri Lanka Navy, late Rear Admiral Mohan Jayamaha, a special mass was conducted under the auspices of Mrs Vinoda Jayamaha and family members of the late Rear Admiral. The special mass was conducted by Rev. Fr. Chandana Perera at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Thimbirigasyaya on 08th August 2022 and it was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.

478 recruits of 245th intake pass out in Poonewa on completion of basic training

Navy lends helping hand to devotees engaged in ‘Paada Yaathra’ from Jaffna to Katharagama

Sri Lanka Navy, as it has been the practice, is lending its helping hand to devotees who are engaged in foot pilgrimage, known as ‘Paada Yaathra’ along the route from the entrance of Kumana National Park to Kumbukkan Oya. The traditional foot pilgrimage marches from Jaffna to Sella Kathragama annually, with the participation of many devotees.

The awarding of ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System certificate to the Naval Dockyard in Northern Naval Command was held at Fort Hammenhiel Resort Karainagar on 21st July 2022. The event was held under the patronage of Director General/ Chief Executive Officer of Standards Institution, Sri Lanka, Dr (Mrs) Siddika Senarathne and Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Aruna Thennakoon.

Defence Secretary paid floral tribute to War Hero Monument in Trincomalee

A ceremony to commemorate fallen war veterans was held under the auspices of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) and with the attendance of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne was held at the War Hero Monument in the Naval Dockyard Trincomalee this morning (23rd July 2022). Recalling those brave souls of the nation, who made enormous sacrifices for the defence of the country, the Defence Secretary and Commander of the Navy paid floral tributes to them at the War Hero Monument.
