The joint naval exercise - ‘JA –LAN EX’ held between the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and Sri Lanka Navy concludes on a successful note off Colombo today (04th October 2021).

The ceremonial decommissioning of Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) ‘Jayasagara’ took place under the patronage of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Naval Dockyard in Trincomalee on 30th September 2021. The impressive event held in keeping with naval traditions was also attended by President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne. Attached to the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) fleet, SLNS ‘Jayasagara’ rendered an invaluable service, by ensuring the maritime security of the island nation for nearly (04) four decades, as a maritime surveillance vessel.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne unveiled the newly-erected war monument at the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla (4 FAF) Headquarters in the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee today (30th September 2021). This War Monument will remain to be a symbol of the noble sacrifice of the fallen war veterans of the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla, the teeth-arm of Sri Lanka Navy fleet.

The 31^st International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) meeting between the navies of Sri Lanka and India was held on a virtual setting at the Light House Galley, Colombo today (29^th September 2021).

Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularathna today (28th September 2021) declared open a new jetty constructed for berthing of small craft at the Naval Detachment of Kondachchikuda, administered by SLNS Therapuththa in the Northwestern Naval Command.
