Giving priority to the veneration of sacred Buddhist religious places in Anuradhapura, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne made offerings to the Mirisawetiya Stupa on 25^th July 2020. The Navy Commander was accompanied by Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, the spouse of Commander of the Navy and President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit as well as a group of senior naval officers.

Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, after assuming office as the 24th Commander of the Navy, paid homage at sacred Jayasri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura, on 25^th July 2020. The President of the NSVU as well as the beloved wife of Commander of the Navy, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne and a host of senior Naval officers were present on the occasion.

Two (02) Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants established by the Navy under the Corporate Social Responsibility project, in Ampara District, were declared open for the use of people, on 24^th July 2020.

Chief of the Naval Staff of India, Admiral Karambir Singh, during a telephone conversation today (24^th July 2020), has congratulated Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne for being appointed as the 24^th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne attended the Official Launching Ceremony of the Master of Science in Military Medicine, held at the Army Hospital Auditorium on 23^rd July 2020, headed by Secretary of Defence, Major General (Rtd) Kamal Gunaratna as the Chief Guest.

Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, after assuming office as Commander of the Navy, paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic at the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy on 22^nd July 2020.

Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne after assuming office as Commander of the Navy, visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya in Kandy and called on the Chief Prelate of Malwathu Chapter to receive the blessings on 22^nd July 2020. The occasion was also attended by Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, the beloved wife of Commander of the Navy as well as the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit.

Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, after assuming office as Commander of the Navy, visited the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya in Kandy and called on the Mahanayake of Asgiriya Chapter to receive the blessings on 22nd July 2020. The visit was also joined by Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit.
