After having revealed that three (03) inmates at Naval Quarantine Centre in Oluvil were tested positive for COVID-19, the Navy promptly rushed them for treatment on 18^th April 2020.

The Navy made arrangements to send six (06) people living in Grandpass, Kotahena, Maligawatta and Punchi Borella areas, to quarantine today (16^th April 2020). This early action was taken in light of these persons had associated with a COVID-19 infected individual.

The prevailing situation in the country has greatly hampered the monthly receipt of medication of retired and serving naval personnel as well as their family members who are receiving long-term treatment from naval hospitals.

In its continuous efforts to control the spread of new coronavirus within the country, the Navy conducted several disinfection programmes at Colombo Dockyard, entrances of Colombo harbour, Warakapola Base Hospital and Zahira College Puttalam on 12^th and 16^th April 2020.
