As a measure of controlling the spreading of new coronavirus in the country, Sri Lanka Navy conducted a sterilization programme at Court Complex premises in Galle, today (29^th March 2020).

After being notified by the Trincomalee Police, the Navy today (29^th March 2020) brought ashore a fisherman who closely associated with a person infected with the new coronavirus and had gone for fishing practices.

In assistance to the Navy’s quarantine programme to control the spread of coronavirus in the country, the DSI Samson Group donated a stock of healthcare equipment to the Navy.

The Navy apprehended 02 suspects who were carrying drugs for sale, during a coordinated search conducted with the Norochcholai Police in Hajarawatta area in Norochcholai on 28^th March 2020.

In its effort to arrest the spread of novel coronavirus in the country, Sri Lanka Navy conducted a disinfection programme at Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama for the second time on 28^th March 2020.

The Navy held 14 persons who engaged in fishing, using unauthorized nets with 05 dinghies during a patrol carried out at Pudumathalan sea area in Mulathivu, on 27^th March 2020.

The Navy on 27^th March 2020 rendered assistance to clean the well which is used to supply water to the quarantine center established in Iranawila.

Four (04) persons who were illegally transporting cattle were apprehended by Navy during a raid carried out at Eluwankulama area in Kalpitiya, on 27^th March 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy on 27^th March 2020 conducted a search operation in the Murunkan area and found a corroded hand grenade at the bund of Yodha wewa (Giant's Tank).
