A special health awareness programme aimed at preventing non-communicable diseases was held at the Navy Headquarters on 16th October 2024, led by Consultant Cardiologist Rear Admiral Gotabaya Ranasinghe.

Australian Defence and Strategic Studies Course delegation visits Navy Headquarters

A group of officers and directing staff members from the Defence and Strategic Studies Course - Australia, who are on a study tour to Sri Lanka, visited the Navy Headquarters today (22nd October 2024). The delegation was headed by Colonel Lara Terese Troy. Upon their arrival, the visiting officers were welcomed by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

Navy designs medical grade RO plant for Hemodialysis Unit at Base Hospital Minuwangoda

As part of the Naval Social Responsibility Project, a medical grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant designed for the Hemodialysis Unit at Base Hospital Minuwangoda was declared open for community use on 21st October 2024. The event was presided over by Mrs. Indrani Malwanna, Regional Director of Health Services – Gampaha and Acting Manager Naval Social Responsibility Project.

INS Kalpeni (T-75) departs Island

The Indian Navy's Fast Attack Craft, INS Kalpeni (T-75), departed Sri Lanka today (21st October 2024) after successfully concluding its formal visit. The Sri Lanka Navy accorded a traditional farewell to the craft at Colombo Port. INS Kalpeni arrived in Colombo on 19th October.

Commander of the Navy visits Northern Naval Command

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera embarked on a formal visit to the Northern Naval Command on 19th and 20th October 2024. During this visit, the Commander of the Navy was accompanied by the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohitha Abeysinghe. The purpose of the visit was to assess the status of important welfare and operational matters within the area. In addition, he also addressed a cross section of officers and sailors in the Northern Naval Command.

4 FAF veterans wound in action in line of duty honoured for their bravery

A ceremony to felicitate wound in action (WIA) veterans of the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla (4 FAF) was organized for the first time at the 4 FAF War Monument in. the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee on 19th October 2024. At the invitation of Commanding Officer 4 FAF, Captain Athula Jayaweera, the ceremony was graced by Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Damian Fernando.

INS Kalpeni arrives in Colombo

INS Kalpeni (T-75), a Fast Attack Craft (FAC) belonging to the Indian Navy, arrived at the port of Colombo on a formal visit today (19th October 2024). The Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the visiting FAC in compliance with naval traditions.

Officers of Higher Defence Management Course, India visit Navy Headquarters

A group of officers and directing staff members from the Indian Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) who are on a study tour to Sri Lanka, visited the Navy Headquarters today (15th October 2024). The HDMC delegation was headed by Colonel Kedar D Gupte. On behalf of the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the visiting officers were welcomed by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.
