Several Corporate Social Responsibility events operated under the Green and Blue Project - a conceptual notion suggested by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, were held in the Southern Province on 29^th February 2020. The events were conducted under the directives of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul.

The Navy, during a patrol in the sea area of Iranativu on 01^st March 2020, apprehended 02 persons who were engaging in fishing using unauthorized fishing nets.

Admiral Clancy Fernando Memorial Navy Cup Sailing Regatta – 2020 organized by Sri Lanka Navy in coordination with the Yachting Association of Sri Lanka which was held on the waterfront of Galle Face Green on 29^th February and 1st March came to successful conclusion, today ( 01^st March 2020).

Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva graced as the chief guest of the prize awarding ceremony of the two mile sea swimming competition organized by Sri Lanka Water Sports Club for the 83^rd year which was held at the seas off Mount Lavenia on 29^th February and 01^st March.

SLN dockyard celebrated its 35^th Anniversary (The ship day) giving prominence to the rich naval traditions on 01^st March 2020. The Ship day celebration commenced with the Commanding officers divisions in the morning. The Commanding officer of SLN Dockyard Captain Haritha Jayadewa graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and took the salute before inspection of the divisions.

The Navy rendered assistance in terms of providing manpower to clean the main road and sidewalks in Galle town area on 28^th February 2020. This programme has been organized as part of the street cleaning week in line with ‘Pivithuru Dakunak Lassana Hetak’ – a project under ‘Rata Hadana Saubhagyaye Dakma’ of the President HE Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Green and Blue concept of Sri Lanka Navy.

SL Navy conducted a cleaning campaign to clean the roadsides of the way runs from Mannar hospital junction to Eluvatoor junction, on 29^th February 2020.

The Navy and the Police conducted a joint raid in Puttalam area and apprehended a suspect with Methamphetamine (Ice) on 29^th February 2020.

SL Navy in coordination with the Police Narcotic Bureau apprehended a haul of drugs weighing approximately 140kg and 300g with six (06) suspects, in the seas off Galle, today ( 29^th February 2020).

Table Top Exercise (TTX 2020) organized by the 4^th Fast Attack Flotilla under the theme of “Conquering Threats Through Collaboration” was held at Dockyard in Trincomalee on 27^th and 28th February 2020. The Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera graced the event as the Chief Guest.
