The Navy recovered 08 unauthorized fishing nets in the lagoon area of Kaththankudi today (07th January 2020).

The Navy, in coordination with the Fisheries Office of Galle, apprehended a person (01) for engaging in illegal fishing in seas off Galle today (07^th January 2020).

The Galle Face Green and the beach area which is most attracted by both local and foreign tourists, is heavily polluted by plastic and polythene substances. As a solution for this problem, Sri Lanka Navy took initiative to place creatively and beautifully produced garbage bins at the Galle Face Green, today (07^th January 2020).

In parallel with the anniversary of the Sri Lanka Volunteer Naval Force (VNF), the annual camp of volunteer naval personnel commenced at the Volunteer Naval Force Headquarters in Welisara today (06^th January 2020). Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, Rear Admiral Noel Kalubowila attended this occasion as the Chief Guest.

The ceremony to award prizes of the Regular Naval Benevolent Fund (RNBF) and the Volunteer Naval Benevolent Fund (VNBF) Raffle Draw, ‘Thilina Malla’ was held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayaka auditorium in SLNS Parakrama today (6^th January 2020) under the patronage of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva.

The Navy apprehended three (03) persons for illegally harvesting sea cucumber in seas south of the Mandativu Island in Jaffna on 05^th January 2020.

The Navy apprehended 02 persons whom were under the influence of alcohol and trying to enter a naval base in Nayaru, Mullaitivu on 05^th January 2020. The suspects were subsequently handed over to the Police.
