The Navy, on 27^th November 2019, apprehended 02 persons at the highway entrance of Hambantota, for illegally transporting iron.

The Navy, during a patrol, seized 96.390kg of Kerala Cannabis in the seas off the Kachchathivu Island on 27^th November 2019.

SL Navy in coordination with the Police STF apprehended 02 persons with a stock of foreign illegal cigarettes at Battaramulla area, on 26^th November 2019.

The incoming and outgoing directors of the Pacific Augmentation Team of the US Navy respectively, Lieutenant Commander Casey McHenry and Chief Warrant Officer 4, Christopher Moore called on Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe at the Eastern Naval Command Headquarters on 25^th November 2019.

Sandy Bay Golf Cup-2019, the Golf Tournament organized by SL Navy was held in Sandy Bay Golf Course-Trincomalee on 24^th November 2019. The tournament was played under three categories as ‘Novices’ ‘Officers’ and ‘Championship’. For novices, officers and sailors who have not played for major tournaments were allowed to participate while officers including officer cadets participated in the officers category tournament. The championship was open for all naval personnel. Thirteen (13) officers and eleven (11) sailors took part in the tournament.

The Indian Naval Ship ‘Nireekshak’ arrived at the port of Trincomalee on a training visit today (25^th November 2019). The ship was warmly welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval tradition.

During a special counterdrug operation carried out by the Navy and Police in Trincomalee on 23^rd November 2019, two persons were apprehended for possession and sale of drugs.

The Navy rendered assistance to repair the defunct sluice gates of Weheragala reservoir in Thanamalwila and helped to bring them back to the operational condition.

The Navy, during a patrol in the sea area between Thalpadu and Southbar in Mannar, managed to release 32 sea turtles trapped in shrimp farms on 24^th November 2019.

In view of celebrating the 37th anniversary of SLNS Parakrama, which falls on forthcoming 9^th December, a number of religious and social welfare activities have been organized by the crew of the ship under the directives of the Commanding Officer Captain Mahesh De Silva.
