Prime Minister Chief Guest at National War Heroes’ Day Commemoration in Battaramulla

The Prime Minister of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena on 19th May 2024 presided over the National War Heroes’ Day Commemoration 2024 held at the National War Heroes’ Monument in Battaramulla. The ceremony held in a dignified sequence was attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

Navy constructs narcotics incineration facility in Puttalam

The Sri Lanka Navy enabled its manpower and industrial expertise to construct a facility for incineration of narcotics which are seized during operations. The facility made available in Wanathavilluwa, Puttalam was declared open by the Minister of Public Security, Hon. Tiran Alles on 18th May 2024.

34th JNSC concludes with graduation ceremony at NMA

The 34th Junior Naval Staff Course (JNSC-34) came to a successful end at the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA). The graduation ceremony of JNSC-34 was held on 17th May 2024 under the patronage of Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, at the invitation of Commandant NMA Rear Admiral Buddhika Liyanagamage.

Twenty (20) naval artificer apprentices pass out after successful completion of training at Naval Institute of Technology

On successful completion of their training at Naval Institute of Technology (NIT) in Welisara, 20 naval artificer apprentices of the 20th artificer intake of NIT passed out at the main parade ground of NIT in Welisara today (17th May 2024). At the invitation of Acting Training Commander, Commander RS De Soyza, the ceremony was graced by Director General Civil Engineering, Rear Admiral Hiran Balasooriya, as the Chief Guest.
