Navy assists restoration of normalcy in affected communities following inclement weather

In response to the emergencies following the adverse weather condition in the island, Sri Lanka Navy has deployed 18 relief teams, 13 dinghies and 2 Emergency Rescue Boats in the Southern and Western provinces.

US - SL Navies rescue 7 fishermen stranded in southern seas

Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Jayasagara attached to the Southern Naval Command,with the assistance of the USA Navy rescued 7 fishermen in distress, aboard a fishing boat with an engine failure, off the Galle harbour yesterday (09th October).

Inter Command Badminton Tournament 2018

The Inter Command Badminton Tournament 2018 was held at the Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee from 1st to 5th October 2018 with the participation of more than 125 players from all Naval Commands. Meanwhile, the tournament returned to Trincomalee after 14 long years.

The best ship among the ships belonging to the Sri Lanka navy, is selected annually. Sports events, Naval knowledge, rope handling, mock war exercises among the ships and the ship recorded the highest number of nautical miles in navigation, are considered as the selection criteria.

The 16th National Wushu Championship was held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium from 02nd to 04th October 2018 and it was participated by a large number of male and female wushu players across from the country.
