Commodore Kalana Jinadasa, the newly appointed Commandant of the premier training institution of Sri Lanka Navy - Naval & Maritime Academy (NMA), assumed duties at the Commandant’s Office yesterday (19 March).

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Kelani on 16 March rendered assistance to remove a large portion of the banyan tree that was leaning dangerously across Hamilton Canal, Elakanda posing greater problems to the community.
