US Nimitz Carrier Strike Group departs from Colombo harbour

The US Navy Nimitz Carrier Strike Group which arrived in Sri Lanka on 28th of this month left from the Colombo harbour today (31st October) on successful completion of its official four day visit. The US Carrier Strike Group comprised of USS Nimitz, the cruiser USS Princeton, and destroyers USS Howard, USS Shoup, USS Pinckney and USS Kidd.

Navy renders assistance to arrest persons engaged in illegal activities

Sri Lanka Navy took 44 persons into custody for engaging in illegal acts at separate locations in the island. Accordingly 41 persons practiced illegal fishing and 03 suspects for keeping illegal drugs in their possession were arrested by the Navy.
