On receipt of intelligence information, naval personnel attached to SLNS Prakrama in Colombo belonging to the Western Naval Command apprehended a suspect with 100 tablets of prescription drug (Tramadol) in his possession, yesterday (7).

The newly appointed Defence Attaché of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka, Captain Ashok Rao called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters today (7).

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Therapuththa located in Silawathurai in the Northwestern Naval Command arrested 31 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities in the sea area of Silawathurai yesterday (6).

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Welusumana in Mandativu belonging to the Northern Naval Command arrested 5 persons with a stock of turtle meat and eggs in Pallikuda area yesterday (5).

Coinciding with the Sports and Physical Health Promotion Week which kicked off today (6), the Sri Lanka Navy organized a special Physical Health programme at the premises of the Port of Colombo.
