Sri Lanka Naval Association commences poppy flower campaign to honour and remember war veterans

On the sidelines of the poppy flower campaign, launched to commemorate war veterans, the President of Sri Lanka Naval Association, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne (Retd) pinned a poppy flower on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (24th October 2023).

Five hundred and twenty-three (523) Navy recruits pass out in Boossa

In a vibrant ceremony, a total of five hundred and twenty-three (523) recruits from the 252nd intake of the Sri Lanka Navy's Regular and Volunteer Forces passed out at the main parade ground of SLNS Nipuna, Boossa on 20th October 2023. Among these recruits, 423 belonged to the Regular Force, while the remaining 100 were from the Volunteer Force.

INS ‘Airavat’ departs concluding her official visit

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) ‘Airavat’ which arrived in Colombo on 18th October 2023 on a formal visit, departed the island today (19th October). The Sri Lanka Navy bade a customary farewell to the departing ship in accordance with naval traditions at the port of Colombo.

Navy-built 983rd RO plant vested in public at Thuparamaya, Anuradhapura

The 983rd Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant built as part of the Naval Social Responsibility Project was declared open for community use at Thuparamaya in Anuradhapura. The opening was held under the patronage of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera today (18th October 2023).

Indonesian Naval Ship ‘KRI BIMA SUCI – 945’ which arrived at the Port of Colombo on an official visit on 14th October 2023 departed the island on 15th October. The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the BAROUE class training ship at the port of Colombo.

USNS BRUNSWICK departs island after formal visit

United States Naval Ship (USNS) BRUNSWICK which arrived at the port of Colombo on 11th October 2023, departed the island on successful completion of the formal visit today (15th October).
