Indonesian Naval Ship ‘KRI BIMA SUCI – 945’ arrived at the Port of Colombo on an official visit this morning (14th October 2023). The visiting ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions.

Galle Dialogue 2023 International Maritime Conference concludes on successful note

The Galle Dialogue 2023 International Maritime Conference, held under the theme "Emerging New Order in the Indian Ocean," concluded on 13th October 2023 with resounding success, marking a significant milestone in charting the course for the future of maritime affairs in the region. The 11th edition of Galle Dialogue International Maritime Conference, organized by the Sri Lanka Navy in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and Geopolitical Cartographer (GC), commenced on 12th October at the Jetwing Lighthouse in Galle. The inaugural ceremony of Galle Dialogue 2023 was held under the patronage of the President and Commander - in - Chief of the Armed Forces of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe and with the esteemed presence of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, dignitaries and distinguished guests. Maritime representatives from 42 countries, along with 11 international organizations attended the conference to engage in comprehensive discussions on the challenges and opportunities in the Indian Ocean.

The 11th edition of the Galle Dialogue International Maritime Conference, organized by the Sri Lanka Navy in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and Geopolitical Cartographer (GC), commenced today (12th October 2023) at the Jetwing Lighthouse in Galle. The inaugural ceremony of this two-day (12th and 13th October) conference, was held under the patronage of the President and Commander - in - Chief of the Armed Forces of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe and with the esteemed presence of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, dignitaries and distinguished guests. The central theme of this year's conference is "Emerging New Order in the Indian Ocean." Maritime representatives from 42 countries, along with 11 international organizations and defence industry organizations, have been invited by the Sri Lanka Navy to participate in this year's event.

The inaugural ceremony of this two-day conference, (12th and 13th October), will be held under the patronage of the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe and with the distinguished presence of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and distinguished guests. The central theme of this year's conference is "Emerging New Order in the Indian Ocean." Maritime representatives from 44 countries, along with 11 international organizations and defence industry organizations, have been invited by the Sri Lanka Navy to participate in this year's event on a global scale.

Wave N’ Lake Navy Hall declared open in Welisara

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera declared open the Wave N’ Lake Navy Hall on an auspicious note in the Welisara Naval Complex on 07th October 2023. The occasion was also attended by the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Mala Lamahewa. Following the inauguration of this new facility, it is now ready and available for full-scale operations. For various ceremonial occasions of the Sri Lanka Navy and for the welfare of all Navy personnel, the construction was completed utilizing the financial contribution of the naval personnel as well as the technical contribution of the Navy.

Commander of the Navy declares open ‘Commander Premlal Danwatte Theater'

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera on 07th October 2023 declared open the ‘Commander Premlal Danwatte Theater’ in the Welisara Naval Complex. The theater that was previously known as the Navy Cultural Dance Hall was renamed as a tribute from the Navy to the late Commander Premlal Danwatte, who served as the Director of Music of the Royal Ceylon Navy and the Sri Lanka Navy. The dignified ceremony, held under the patronage of the Commander of the Navy, was also attended by the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Mala Lamahewa.

Navy provides medical grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant to Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera on 06th October 2023 declared open a medical grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH). This contribution, made available for the Hemodialysis Unit of LRH, is part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) initiative, reflecting the Navy's commitment to serving the community.
