Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to arrest ten Indian fishermen along with three Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters Northeast of Kokilai on 29th December 2015.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne was felicitated by the civil employees attached to the Naval Headquarters at a reception held at the SLNS Parakrama Auditorium on 30th December 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Therapuththa in Silawathura arrested seven persons on two separate occasions for their engagement in illegal fishing. Three persons along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy and a fishing net (Surukku) were taken into naval custody in the seas off Arippu on 28th December 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Barana in Mullikulam arrested five persons along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy and a purse-seine net (Laila) in the seas between Kudiramalei Point and Pukkulam whilst engaged in illegal fishing methods on 28th December 2015.

The North Western Naval Command conducted a family get-together of naval personnel killed and wounded in action during the war at SLNS Thambapanni in Puttlam on 27th December 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Agbo rendered assistance to reconstruct a house, which had been damaged by a fire.

Sri Lanka Navy’s Offshore Patrol Vessel, SLNS Samudura and Fast Missile Vessel SLNS Nandimitra were on a training and goodwill visit to India from 21st to 24th December 2015.
