Two Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) ships, “JS BUNGO” and “JS YAEYAMA” arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill and supply visit on 13th October 2014

The inter-command basketball tournament of the Sri Lanka Navy was held at SLN Dockyard in Trincomalee from 03rd to 07th October 2014.

The Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Squadron (4RS) underwent a silver medal refresher life saving training on 01st October 2014 at the Calido beach in Kalutara. The Commanding Officer RABS/4RS and seventy-four 4RS personnel took part in the training programme conducted in collaboration with the Life Saving Association of Sri Lanka (LSASL) and Life Saving Victoria (LSV) based in Australia.

The Navy Musical Band and Cultural Troupe held two mucsical shows in Karainagar and Kaytes. A large number of civilians in the area attended the shows which were held on 06th and 07th October 2014 respectively.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera commended the training provided by Leading Seaman Sanath Bandara to Kulunu Gaveshika Nanayakkara and Dishara Desedi Hettiarachci of the Carlton Pre-school enabling them to set a Guinness record by completing a bicycle ride of 191 kilometer distance on the World Children’s Day.

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera visited the South Eastern Naval Area on 06th October 2014. He was accompanied by the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Shalika Perera, Director Generals and senior officers attached to the Naval Headquarters.
