As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s Community Development and Social Responsibility Project, the North Western Naval Command conducted two field medical clinics in the Mannar district on 13th and 14th September 2014.

The Sri Lankan Cadet Officer Contingent that took part in the World Military Cadet Games held in Ecuador returned home, having created a milestone in Sri Lanka’s defence services sports.

Naval diver Sampath Amarasinghe who was on duty at Kurikadduwan Jetty, Pungudativu Island, Jaffna saved a six year old boy named Basenar who slipped and fell in to the sea through a narrow gap between the jetty and passenger ferry whilst attempting to board the ferry.
