The Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera during an official visit to India, graced the Passing out Parade of naval officers, as the Chief Guest, held at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala on 27th May 2023. At the invitation of the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, Admiral R Hari Kumar, the Sri Lankan Navy Chief made this formal visit to India. During the visit, Commander of the Navy was accompanied by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Mala Lamahewa.

The Sri Lanka Navy on 25th May 2023 held a special meeting at SLNS Gotabaya in Mullaitivu, to make the fishing communities in Mullaitivu aware of prevailing issues in the industry. The meeting was chaired by Commander Eastern Naval Area and Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara.

The fifth (05th) round of Navy to Navy Expert Level Staff Talks between Sri Lanka Navy and Pakistan Navy concluded on a successful note on 24th May 2023 at the Navy Headquarters, Colombo.

The April edition of Naval Electrical and Electronic Engineering & Technology (NEET) e-magazine was ceremonially launched on 23 May 2023 at the Navy Headquarters by the Director General Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Rear Admiral Viraj Leelarathne. This online publication aims to showcase the research related activities in the Directorate of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and also to improve skills of technical writing of engineers and technicians.

The Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM) and the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) held a successful joint regional meeting at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium of the Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee on 18th May 2023.

The Commander in Chief of Armed Forces and the President, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe on 19th May 2023 presided over the National War Heroes’ Day Commemoration 2023 held at the National War Heroes’ Monument in Battaramulla. The ceremony held in a dignified sequence was attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

As part of yet another Naval Social Responsibility initiative, a blood donation campaign was successfully held at the Command Hospital of Southeastern Naval Area on 18th May 2023.

Coinciding with the World Oral Health Day (20th March), the Dental Service of the Sri Lanka Navy successfully conducted a mobile dental clinic from 09th to 19th May 2023 in the Southeastern Naval Command.

The current Naval Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Colombo, Lieutenant Commander Richard Lister and his successor Lieutenant Commander Jessica De Mont today 19th May 2023 visited the Navy Headquarters for a farewell and introductory office call with the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

Coinciding with the National War Heroes’ Day, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera today (18th May 2023) visited the Anchorage Naval Care Centre in Welisara and inquired into the wellbeing of dependent naval war heroes in rehabilitation. During this visit, Commander of the Navy was accompanied by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Mala Lamahewa.
